Take Care of the Love you have (A Poem)

Why is it that we always take for granted our partners just because we thought they are there forever? On my part, it is because I am too busy securing our financial stability that I come short on my obligations. It is because I cannot, no matter how I try, to spread myself too thin or cut myself into several pieces just to be with everyone at one time.

But is this reason enough?

Friends, today enjoy this poem that I made as part of my devotional poem for marriage couples. I hope the message reach your inmost thoughts and work within you.

“Let all that you do be done with love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14

love must be taken cared of

or soon it will die

don’t dare take it for granted

or like opportunity–it will fly

love is a blessing you have

that few receives in this life

not everyone is given someone

to be with in the world of strife

nourish your beloved like your body

nurture it like a plant

keep it safe against the storm

keep it always warm

but when by chance you lose your time

or became so much busy

with losing health or searching wealth

in life that is not easy

just do, I say, what you can do

to keep the love alive

bring all the rest to the hands of God

let Him who gives make it survive

Prayer:

Oh Lord, help us take care of our beloved. Make us a worthy steward of the people who comes our way.

In times of limitation, supply us with your never ending love. Let it flow

 from us to our partners.

In Jesus name, amen.

  1. Yes I am a hopeless romantic but I must first love myself and then love others. Yes take care of myself and I think we forget at times and then seek that love in others…
